Traditional Holistic Aromatherapy Instructor Training Program
Pre-requisites: Certification in Traditional Holistic Aromatherapy Training with SCT or equivalent certification with a School or Association approved by SCT; a minimum of two years practice in the field of Aromatherapy/Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM); training in Energy Medicine, for example: Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, Advanced Lightworkers, etc. approved by SCT; experience in teaching/facilitating/lecturing or demonstration of abilities by interview/testing process with an approved SCT Instructor.
Includes: Anatomy & Physiology for Holistic Practitioners to be completed by correspondence with SCT
Advanced Training in A&P exclusive to SCT Instructors
Review and testing of the SCT Traditional Holistic Aromatherapy Training Program under the guidance of founder Jacqueline Fairbrass, includes working in-class with Jacqueline and phone interviews, emails etc. as necessary to train the Instructor candidate to SCT standards
Acceptance as an Instructor requires on-going testing and instruction via correspondence and/or e-mail. The Aromatherapy Instructor Training requires completion of a reading list and written exercises regarding business, ethics, etc.
Final examination
Cost: $6,750
This Instructor Training Program has been developed with student candidates over a period of three years and brings a level of training to the Instructor Program completely unique in the field of CAM and Aromatherapy. This program involves 6 months to one-year of part-time study with founder Jacqueline Fairbrass and SCT staff. Upon completion of Aromatherapy Instructor Training a Certificate is issued by SCT and the successful candidate attains a position as an SCT Aromatherapy Instructor, Independent Contractor. Your biography and photograph are added to the website. SCT marketing includes print advertising and promotion through the web. SCT lists your course dates on the SCT website calendar and announces dates through the monthly Newsletter. A New Teacher announcement is sent to the SCT email list. You are invited to attend Trade Show events etc. to promote SCT and your Classes for SCT. Instructors are offered teaching opportunities as they arise in the community. You are informed and updated on Aromatherapy as a career including legislation and licensing issues.
As an Instructor for SCT:
- You are required to continue in practice and self-education, as part of our professional approach
- You are required to promote your courses and register your own students.[The school will help with referrals, etc.]
- You will be apprised of email and phone leads in your area
- You are paid directly by students for courses or your students may register through SCT for a small administration charge
- You pay SCT a predetermined percentage for each student
- You are able to purchase charts, starter packs, cds, teeshirts, etc from SCT to sell to students
PLEASE NOTE: SCT supplies the manuals, texts, cds etc for students. All course materials are copyright SCT. Further training is available should you choose to expand your teaching repertoire, including Ethics and Nutrition, etc.
Successful candidates are upon completion trained to teach the full Traditional Holistic Aromatherapy Training Program and their students are eligible for the designation Certified Aromatherapy Health Therapist (CAHT) with the Canadian Examining Board of Holistic Practitioners. You are also certified to teach Aromatherapy for Estheticians, Aromatherapy for Massage Therapists, Introduction to Holistic Aromatherapy and Aromatology (Aromatherapy training without massage), Aromatherapy Massage and Anatomy & Physiology for Holistic Practitioners.
A Teaching Contract is offered when you are ready to be included on the website. You are required to abide by the contract, as well as the code of ethics and policies and procedures outlined on the website.
SCT offers on-going support and assistance. You are part of the SCT Team including access to the Instructors Only page of the website, receive a quarterly newsletter with teaching tips and be featured on the website under the Community events.
